| Swimming: We
are excited to have Caroline Keating returning
as the head swim coach for 2008. Last fall she finished her education degree at
BGSU and was the student assistant coach for the Lady Falcons. As
a swimmer she broke 3 school records at BGSU, which she still currently holds.
She was the captain of the team her senior year as well as the president of the
Student-Athlete Council. In high school, she swam at St. Ursula and for the Cincinnati
Marlins. Since
returning to Cincinnati, she substitute taught at St. Ursula for a month, and
then in February she started teaching algebra full time at Roger Bacon. She is
also currently the assistant track and field coach at Roger Bacon. Caroline is
undecided about where she will be teaching next year, but she hopes to stay in
Cincinnati. This summer, along with coaching at MTLSC, she will be the
assistant manager at the swim club. She will also be doing many math tutoring
jobs over the summer...in case you need help! We
are happy to have Ellen Habel returning as
an assistant swim coach, and we want to welcome Thomas
Barnes, and Mara Russowho will
also be assisting Caroline with the swim program. Ellen has been swimming with
Mt. Lookout since she was 6. She volunteered for a year as an assistant coach,
and this will be her third year working with the 8 & unders. She has been
swimming with the Cincinnati Marlins since she was 7; she teaches swim lessons
with the Marlins and occasionally helps coach younger swimmers. She is graduating
from St. Ursula Academy this year and will be attending the University of Cincinnati
next year in their Design, Art, Architectureand Planning College (DAAP) for Digital
Design. Thomas
has been swimming for 12 years; he swam for 11 years with the Anderson Barracudas,
and has been swimming with the Cincinnati Marlins for the last year. He will be
graduating from St. Xavier High School this year, and he plans to swim at Purdue
University next year. Mara
has been a Mt. Lookout Killer Whale since she was eight. She will be a senior
next fall at St. Ursula Academy and has been on their varsity team every year.
She has been club swimming for eight years and is currently training with the
Cincinnati Marlins. This is also her third summer working at Mt. Lookout, and
this summer she is looking forward to helping the younger swimmers! |
